Barata Na Cabelo

WEEK 56: October 16, 2017

Soooo...there´s this game here in Cabo Verde called barata na boca (aka cockroach in your mouth.) Sounds weird, yes. But don't forget, I am living in Cabo Verde. Anyways, we always play this game during FHE and it´s not what you think it is. I´ll explain it to my family when I get home. ANYWAYS, instead of playing barrata na boca this week, a barrata decided to NOT be a homie and play in my hair instead!! You can imagine how loud the screaming was when we walked into our apartment  at 9:15pm that night and discovered a barata playing hide n´seek in my thick, now blonde head of hair. I´m actually surprised our neighbors didn´t call the cops. I haven´t screamed that loud in a long time...or ever i think.

As for the missionary side of things, it was a week full of SO MANY MILAGRES. AGAIN! São Filipe is turning out to be quite the area. Sis Barbosa and I hit ALL of the standards of excellence this week, which for those of you who have been keeping up on these email things, know that I havent had that in sooooooooooo long. We finally had 5 PESQUISADORS IN CHURCH. YES YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT. 5 PESQUISADORS. God is good. Our
"date marks" are on the right track for their baptisms as well, and that is all we can ask for as missionaries.

We also found a less active mom this past week whose 3 children have yet to be baptized. Her kids ASKED US to be baptized one day while we were in the street, and we had never even taught them before. QUE MILAGRE! We were able to stop by and visit them after church on Sunday and share the restoration video. We also set a baptism date for her two kids (the third will be moving to Portugal to study.) Their mom sat in with us and ended up giving the closing prayer. In her prayer she asked God to help those that were lost, specifically herself, return back to the path so that she and her kids could all follow the Savior´s example. It was AMAZING! God is real and will help this family become ONE and return back to church. I love this work.

Hope you all have a great week and keep on keepin´ on. Cannot believe that Kade has officially submitted his papers....where does the time go?! So so excited for you though Kade and know the Lord has chosen somewhere PERFECT for you and that there are people waiting for you and your amazing personality and testimony... love you!

ps. shoutout to my fav Dot Smith for recieving her call to Boston, MA. I love you so much and can´t wait to speak Kriolu with you when you get back. You will be AMAZING as always xoxo
